UN-Habitat relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions from governments, local authorities, multi-donor trust funds, intergovernmental institutions, private sector and civil society.
Almost 80% of UN-Habitat’s annual income of around US$ 200 million comes from national governments. Around 70% of this income is used for country programmes while 30% goes to global normative work to develop evidence-based policies, knowledge and tools, to build capacity, and to advocate for the design, planning and management of sustainable towns and cities.
