Promoting Urban Energy For Climate Change In Developing Countries (Norway Pca 2015)

The overall purpose of this Project is to achieve the UN-Habitat Sub-Programme 4 (Urban Basic Services) objective to: “To increase equitable access to urban basic services and improve the standard of living of the urban poor”. The objectives contributing to this purpose are:

  • To assist selected municipalities in developing by-laws or energy policies ;
  • To promote adoption of improved cook stoves and clean lighting systems;
  • To initiate climate resilience and mitigation interventions in urban areas through awareness creation among local governments and general public and education material for technical schools and colleges
