Provincial Strategy For Inclusive And Sustainable Urban Growth B -Municipal Business Plan

The project is to build the capacity of municipalities through a Municipal Business Planning Pilot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province targeting one city. The pilot's main aim is to test the challenges in implementing improved business planning, revenue collection, and cost reduction. The pilot includes  use of information technology to improve efficiency in municipal planning and service delivery. The project outcomes will influence the government's policy on business planning and financial sustainability of municipalities. The project is under a broad technical assistance programme undertaken by the Asian Development Bank finding upon agreement between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and endorsed by the Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) an the results are to be integrated to the overall capacity building technical assistance programme of urban sector of KP province.  During the project is it expected to work closely with the local planning unit of the KP government and pilot city to build staff capacity of municipal business planning through modeling the data sets which represents revenue and expenditure and enabling the key staff members to understand the business planing process.
