The project will establish a comprehensive Urban Information and Analysis Framework that extends from neighbourhood to city level. The framework will support several types of spatial analysis including damage at all levels, population shifts, urban functionality and informal/ formal human settlements. In coordination with the United Nations Humanitarian Country Team (HCT), the project will focus on critically affected cities across Yemen, based on the following range of inter-related criteria:
i. Areas with greater humanitarian needs and with little to no information or less access on the ground. In such cases, local facilitators based inside the city, and expert networks will play an important role.
ii. Selection from a list of cities where the World Bank Damage/ Dynamic Needs Assessment has or is planning to conduct damage mapping (Phase I and II).
iii. Analyze cities and neighbourhoods/ settlements with significant internally displaced persons (IDPs), with recovery potential, or areas with significant potential for return.
