The overall purpose of this Programme is to achieve the UN-Habitat Sub-Programme 4 (Urban Basic Services) objective to: “To increase equitable access to urban basic services and improve the standard of living of the urban poor”. The objectives contributing to this purpose are:

  • to demonstrate a people-centered approach for urban mobility planning, focusing on active modes of transport and the integration of walking, cycling with public transport;
  • to develop concrete pilot actions in line with a 1.5°C stabilization pathway, while also improving accessibility particularly for the poor, safety, local air-pollution and makes a positive contribution to local social and economic opportunities
  • to develop an ICT based solution targeting at improving operations of  the current public transport
