The Global Land Tool Network, as facilitated by UN-Habitat, based on its past and current works on land governance and tenure security, is pursuing to address these challenges by bringing the Network’s diversity of expertise, knowledge, relevant land tools  and capacity development work. GLTN already has numerous successful interventions in securing land tenure for both urban and rural poor in Uganda and other countries like Zambia, DR Congo, Kenya, Philippines, among others. The proposed intervention will contribute to the efforts of the German government in improving food security conditions in developing countries and to its efforts in supporting the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Tenure on Land, Fisheries and Forests (VGGT) in the context of National Food Security as an incremental framework to improve land governance and tenure security for pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1, 2 and 5 under the broader spectrum of poverty reduction including combating hunger, increasing agriculture production, access to basic services, land and environmental degradation and to agricultural land for women and other frameworks like AU/UNECA Framework and Guidelines on Land Policy in Africa
