Sustainable Development Goals, In Particular Goal 11 On Cities Work Related To Indicators, Tools, Capacity Building And Monitoring

This project is well aligned with other ongoing work on addressing the monitoring challenges of SDGs. This includes supporting the complimentary work of addressing the spatial data collection challenges supported by a grant from Norway, and the complimentary Development account project which is supporting the capacity development/strengthening of the national statistical systems to respond to the wider needs of the SDGs. At selected country levels (Botswana, Tunisia, Colombia, Mexico), there is ongoing work or discussions to support the implementation of the city prosperity initiative—an integrated approach to monitoring all aspects of the city systems. These projects will be strengthened by the novel work that will be done on the piloting of the national sample of cities in the target countries.
